I found an other little project. This “walkman” is a mono cassette-recorder/player. It has 1 knob recording, adjustable bandspeed and a speaker. I think it was more a dictaphone then walkman.
It still looks like new but needs some TLC. I still have a bunch of cassettes I taped in the 80’s from the radio. Would be fun to be able to use them again.
First step: information gathering. There is not much info available so I first have to find out how to open it the best way. Then how to clean and lubricate it. Check belts and rubber parts. Adjusting it will be not possible because I do not have the special tapes needed. So if it sounds not right I will try to set the azimuth by ear using the tapes I have. Speed is not needed and it is only mono.
